Cameron Norrie reached the second round of the US Open, having defeated the injured Sebastian Korda due to an ankle issue.

In the match, which took place on Court 17, Norrie, who felt nervous at the start of the game, won with a score of 7-5 6-4, when Korda, the 25-year-old American tennis player, decided to end the meeting. Korda recently returned to the tour after a three-month break due to an ankle injury.

From the very beginning of the match, Korda began to show signs of pain in his ankle. After losing the second set, he decided to stop playing, which allowed Norrie to continue his fight in the tournament.

Norrie, who previously missed the US Open 2024 due to an ankle injury, now hopes to regain his form after a successful performance at Umag, where he reached the quarterfinals. In his debut at the US Open in 2017, he also experienced a similar injury before the match.
