President of the USA Donald Trump announced his intention to file a lawsuit in California regarding the new redistricting bill that was passed last week. This bill, according to the words of the Democrats, is a response to analogous amendments that were implemented in Texas, where Republicans plan to add five new seats in Congress.

Trump stated that the lawsuit will be filed "very soon" through the Department of Justice. He also indicated that he is confident in its success. "BRING IT," wrote California Governor Gavin Newsom in response to Trump's statement.

The California bill provides for the conduct of a special election in the fall for the approval of new district maps. This step, according to Newsom, aims to neutralize attempts by Republicans to obtain additional seats in Congress. Texas, in turn, does not require approval in the redistricting for its amendments.

This situation has sparked a national supermajority regarding redistricting districts, especially since some southern states plan to change their maps, striving to gain control in the House of Representatives, where Republicans have an advantage in all six districts.
