Announced judges of the new season of American Idol without the host
- Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Kerry Andrew will return to the show.
- Ryan Seacrest may return, but his contract has not yet been confirmed.
- Auditions will start on August 26 through the online system.
The judges of the 24th season American Idol have been announced, but the host of the program has not yet been confirmed. In a video, posted on Instagram, it was confirmed that the judging panel will include Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Kerry Andrew. This will already be the second season for Andrew as a judge, while Richie and Bryan have been working in this role since 2018.
No announcement has been made about the host of the program. Ryan Seacrest, who has hosted American Idol since its launch in 2002, was not mentioned in the announcement. Reports indicate that Seacrest plans to return, although he currently does not have a signed contract.
It has been announced that auditions for the upcoming season will start on August 26, with the possibility of participation through online casting in all 50 states. Contestants who pass the selection will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in personal auditions before the judges.
The selection process, known as "Idol Across America," will also include open casting calls in different states in the fall. Contestants who receive a "golden ticket" from the judges will advance to the next stage of auditions, known as "Hollywood Week." As a result of the competition, usually close to two dozen contestants remain for participation in the live shows.
The upcoming season of American Idol will not air until 2026. The show was transferred from Fox to ABC in 2018, making the upcoming season the ninth on ABC.
Kerry Andrew joined the show in 2024, replacing Katy Perry, who had been a judge for several seasons.
In April, Jamal Roberts, a teacher of physical culture from Mississippi, became the winner of the 23rd season of American Idol, receiving the largest number of votes with 26 million.
