- The auction generated significant interest among collectors.
On August 25, 2025, an auction sale of the card, signed by legends NBA Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, took place in Dallas. This card became the most expensive sports card in history, sold for $12,932,000.
The auction company Heritage Auctions reported that there were 82 bids on the card from the 2007-08 Upper Deck Logoman collection. The price exceeded the previous record by $12.6 million, which was set for a card of baseball rookie star Mickey Mantle in 2022.
The card was purchased by three investors, one of whom was Canadian entrepreneur Kevin O'Leary. He noted that the card has unique signatures of both players and elements of their game jerseys. O'Leary also emphasized that he does not believe the card will appear on the market again in his lifetime.
Interest in sports collectibles is growing, and the Jordan and Bryant card was put up for sale on Bryant's birthday. O'Leary and his partners plan to keep this card as part of their investment assets.
