The Congressional Committee Demands Documents from Mother Epstein
- The oversight committee has received a new statement from mother Epstein.
- They plan to request various documents, including financial records.
- Alexander Akosta will participate in the interview on September 19.
The oversight committee plans to question U.S. representatives on September 25, 2025, and has issued a new statement to mother Epstein. This statement anticipates the submission of various documents, including one titled "book on the day of birth," which will feature the names of individuals who welcomed Epstein on his 50th anniversary.
The committee's chair, James Comer, stated that mother Epstein has in her possession documents that could be useful for the committee's investigation. He set a deadline of August 8 for the submission of requested materials, including financial documents and records about possible clients involved in illegal activities related to Epstein.
The Comer also reported that former labor minister Alexander Akosta, who previously oversaw Epstein's affairs, has voluntarily agreed to participate in the interview on September 19, 2025. Akosta has been criticized for the agreement made with Epstein in 2008, which was termed "unacceptable."
In addition, the oversight committee reported receiving thousands of documents related to Epstein from the Department of Justice, although Democrats noted that only about 3% of them contained new information.
