The Cincinnati Bengals have signed a new deal with defensive end Trey Hendrickson, allowing them to finalize his ongoing retention. The deal includes an increase in Hendrickson's salary to $30 million for the 2025 season, which is an increase of $14 million compared to his previous contract. Hendrickson may become an unrestricted free agent after this season.

Hendrickson, who was voted second in last season's voting for the best defensive end, recorded 17.5 sacks, which allowed him to become the league leader in this category. Over the last two years, he has amassed 35 sacks, which is the highest figure in the NFL.

During the negotiations over the past two years, Hendrickson and the Bengals office discussed an increase in salary, which was accompanied by public statements regarding his unresolved situation. After other players on the team secured new contracts, Hendrickson remained the only one without a deal, which further complicated the situation.

The team hopes that Hendrickson will continue his productivity under the leadership of the new defensive coordinator Al Golden, especially since last season the team finished in 25th place overall in the league.

Now, with the new contract in place, Hendrickson is once again committed to the team, after having missed the first five training sessions before the season.
