The search operation, which has been ongoing for two days, is taking place near the Rock-Island Campground, where the bodies of Decker's daughters were discovered.
Travis Decker disappeared on February 2, after failing to return home from a planned visit to their mother with his daughters: 9-year-old Peyton, 8-year-old Evelyn, and 5-year-old Olivia. According to the sheriff of Chelan County, the operation involves nearly 100 law enforcement officers, who are searching the dense wooded areas.
Authorities do not have information on whether Decker is alive or dead. Search teams are executing a search plan within a quarter-mile radius of the campground. A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information that leads to his apprehension.
Previously, on February 2, the daughters were found with plastic bags over their heads, and a forensic medical examination confirmed they died from asphyxiation. Decker has been charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
The sheriff noted that they will not stop until all possible leads for his whereabouts have been exhausted.
