Norway Supports Ukraine in the Return of Children and Winter Needs

Norway, as a key member of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, provides significant support to Ukraine in this process. The head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, stated this in a post on Telegram after a briefing held at the Center for the Protection of Children's Rights for the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre, as part of the initiative of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy "Bring Kids Back UA".

Yermak emphasized that together with the Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, and their team, they focused on the central issue: the return of children abducted by Russia. "Norway is a key member of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and provides serious support in the search and repatriation process," he added.

The head of the President's Office also highlighted the fact that the enemy systematically obstructs this effort, providing information and attempting to destroy lives. This is a crime against the Ukrainian nation. The Prime Minister of Norway also met with young people who have already returned home as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative. "This is the strongest confirmation of the effectiveness of our joint efforts. We are grateful for Norway's ongoing support. We will continue to work so that every child returns home," Yermak said.

In addition, Norway will support Ukraine during the heating season and assist with gas purchases, Yermak noted. "We specifically discussed energy. Norway helps Ukraine to get through the winter, supporting gas purchases. Russia, in turn, constantly strikes at our energy infrastructure," he wrote.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed key issues with the Prime Minister of Norway, including diplomatic efforts for achieving a just peace, strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, guarantees of security, and the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia.
