President of the USA Donald Trump stated that he wants to meet with the leader of North Korea Kim Jong Un this year. This will take place during his meeting with the new president of South Korea Lee Jae-myung in the White House.

Trump emphasized that he maintains "very good relations" with Kim and believes that there is great potential in North Korea. He also expressed hope for a meeting with him in the near future.

During the meeting, Trump and Lee discussed economic ties between the USA and North Korea. Trump confirmed that the 15% tariff on North Korean goods will remain unchanged, regardless of the conditions outlined in the agreement.

Lee also stressed the importance of the military alliance between the USA and South Korea in the context of threats from North Korea. He noted that North Korea does not plan to develop its own nuclear forces but indicated an increasing threat from North Korean missile programs.

Additionally, during Lee's visit, investments from South Korean companies in the American economy were announced, including orders for 103 Boeing aircraft from Korean Air and a partnership with Amazon for the development of small nuclear reactors.
