Ukrainian Defenders Repelled an Assault and Captured Nine Russians
- The border guards captured nine Russian soldiers in Pokrovsk.

In the direction of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian border guards repelled an attack by Russian troops and captured a group of nine soldiers. According to information from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the attackers attempted to assault in small groups.
On August 24, border guards from the Chernihiv brigade stopped an attack, during which six Russians were captured. Earlier, a few days prior, Ukrainian forces had detained three more Russian soldiers.
Among the captured are individuals from temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region, as well as from Russia, including Udmurtia and Ossetia.
Pokrovsk Direction
This direction remains one of the most intense on the front. According to a recent report from the General Staff on August 26, the largest battles have taken place here over the past few days.
Ukrainian forces repelled 46 attacks from the Russian side. The fighting was concentrated in the areas of Zatyshok, Nykanorivka, Nova Shakhivka, Novoeikonovka, Udačne, Shakhove, Myrolyubivka, Mykolaivka, Sukhec, Lisivka, and Zvyreve.
Russia also attempted to break through in the directions of Rodynske, Novoukrainka, Chervonyi Lyman, and directly in Pokrovsk.
Pokrovsk remains inaccessible for humanitarian and medical assistance due to active shelling.
The commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Russian army is employing a tactic of "thousand cuts" in this direction, trying to break through the defense with small assault groups across a wide front.
