Israel faces global condemnation following the attack on a hospital in Gaza
- After the attack on the hospital in Gaza, 20 people were killed, including journalists.
- Mass protests in Israel demand the release of hostages.
- The international community condemned the attack, calling for an investigation.
On August 25, 2025, following the attack on the hospital in Nasser, at least 20 people were killed, among them five journalists. This incident provoked international condemnation and protests in Israel from the families of the hostages taken by Hamas.
The attack was a result of what is referred to as a "surgical strike": the first rocket hit the hospital, while the second struck during the rescue operation. Among the deceased journalists were representatives of media outlets such as Al Jazeera and NBC. The Israeli army asserts that it does not target civilians and is conducting an internal investigation.
Reactions to this incident were swift: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and other countries expressed their outrage. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the strike a "tragic mistake." At the same time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom called for immediate cessation of hostilities.
In response to this situation, mass protests are taking place in Israel. Families of the hostages took to the streets, demanding that the government release their loved ones. They held a "national day of protest," blocking roads and staging sit-ins in Tel Aviv.
According to the Ministry of Health, since the beginning of the conflict on July 7, 2023, over 62,000 Palestinians have been killed. In Israel, it is believed that 20 hostages are still alive.
