Nigel Farage Proposes Mass Deportation of Migrants in the United Kingdom
- Reform UK plans mass deportations of illegal migrants.
- The party intends to abolish international legal norms.
- Zia Yusuf confirmed the readiness to pay the Taliban for the return of migrants.
Leader of the Reform UK party Nigel Farage announced plans for mass deportations of illegal migrants, which his party aims to implement in the upcoming general elections in 2029. He asserts that these measures would allow the removal of hundreds of thousands of migrants and eliminate the entitlement to benefits for those who illegally enter the country.
The party plans to withdraw from participation in the European Court of Human Rights and repeal the Human Rights Act, replacing it with British law that would apply only to lawful residents of Great Britain and individuals who have legal grounds for residing in the country.
Alongside the statements of Zia Yusuf, the head of the government effectiveness department at Reform, the party intends to establish a new agency that will handle deportations. They plan to keep illegal migrants in closed facilities until their deportation is realized.
Moreover, Yusuf confirmed that Reform UK is ready to pay the Taliban for the return of migrants who illegally entered the country. He believes that this is "quite reasonable" for the British government to conclude an agreement with the regime.
The plans of Reform UK have drawn criticism from other political forces, which consider their proposals unrealistic and not taking into account existing international obligations.
