This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Mezha.
The Ukrainian company Frontline has integrated the "Burya" grenade launcher turret for the automatic grenade launcher Mk-19 into the unmanned ground combat complex Combat Gereon, developed by the German company ARX Robotics.
Details: Combat Gereon is created based on the "Unmanned First Contact" concept, which allows it to perform the most dangerous tasks instead of soldiers, reducing risks for soldiers in combat zones.
The "Burya" turret offers new combat capabilities to this unmanned platform. Both products form a single combat module, ready for deployment on the battlefield.
According to Frontline, this combat module can be deployed for performing critical tasks, including for fire support of infantry.
"The integration of the unmanned combat complex Combat Gereon and the "Burya" turret is already being used by combat units," the company added.
Background:
- The "Burya" turret is expected to be in service with military units from early 2025 and is already undergoing serial production.
- Earlier, Frontline, in collaboration with the Estonian manufacturer Milrem Robotics, successfully integrated the "Burya" turret for the 40-mm Mk-19 grenade launcher into the unmanned system THeMIS.
