Return of a girl from occupied territories for education

The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak reported on the return of a 17-year-old girl from temporarily occupied territory as part of the President's initiative "Bring Kids Back UA".

The girl named Ksenia dreams of studying at a Ukrainian university, despite spending three years of her life under occupation. Her older sister has already survived in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

Ksenia continued to study online at a Ukrainian school, hoping for a return to normal life. After the unsuccessful attempt to escape, her sister was returned by the authorities. Thanks to the efforts of the teams of the Ukrainian Children's Rights Network, it was possible to prepare documents, develop a safe route, and organize the supervision.

Now Ksenia is preparing to enroll in a Ukrainian university and hopes that her mother will also be able to return from the occupation.

According to the data from the Office of the President, as of now within the framework of the initiative "Bring Kids Back UA", it has been possible to return 1,458 children, but over 1.6 million Ukrainian children remain under enemy control.
