Thousands of documents about the shooting in Uvalde are being released
- Documents total 26,000 pages, including 8,600 electronic records.
- The attorney acknowledged the release in the document division.
- Board members were chosen for the delay in the publication of the information.
Thousands of additional documents related to the shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, will be released after the attorney acknowledged the release in their division. These documents total nearly 26,000 pages, including 8,600 electronic records that had not been previously disclosed.
At the meeting of the school board, which took place on August 25, 2025, attorney Robb D. Decker from the Walsh Gallegos firm stated that their team was not aware of the existence of problems related to obtaining records from the municipality. "We did not publish all the relevant information. That was our acknowledgment," he noted.
Board members, some of whom were in tears, expressed concern about the situation and emphasized that they had no prior connection to the detention related to the disclosed documents. Board member Jacqueline Gonzalez stated that it is important to ensure transparency and that new documents should accompany the families of the deceased.
The meeting was held on the public record, which showed that the documents had not been published prior to the court ruling. Earlier, UCISD released thousands of records following a lengthy legal battle for access to materials related to the shooting, in which 19 children and two teachers were killed.
During the meeting, board member Jessie Rizzo called for the hiring of a new legal consultant, blaming the previous team for negligence.
