- Crystal Palace is considering the possibility of signing Manuel Akanji from Manchester City.
- Marc Guéhi may leave the club, which pushes Palace towards signing Akanji.
- Galatasaray and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown interest in Akanji.
Crystal Palace has expressed interest in signing the defender Manchester City Manuel Akanji. The Swiss footballer was absent from his team's squad during the match against Tottenham, which took place on August 26, 2025, and he may leave the club before the transfer window closes.
Crystal Palace has not yet made an official proposal, but is already interested in the terms of Akanji's transfer. The club also acknowledges that their captain Marc Guéhi may leave the team, especially as his name is often associated with a transfer to Liverpool.
Head coach Oliver Glasner noted that the club will face significant problems if Guéhi remains with the team, especially ahead of the match in the League Cup. Akanji, who signed a contract with City in 2022, currently has no playing time and is being considered for a position in the main squad.
The Turkish club Galatasaray has also expressed interest in Akanji, while the German club Bayer Leverkusen may sign him, as Arsenal has signed their Ecuadorian player Piero Hincapié.
Currently, Manchester City values Akanji at approximately £15 million (about $20.2 million), and he has two years left on his contract with the club.
