Zelensky spoke about the Druzhba pipeline

  • Orbán called Zelensky's words about the Druzhba pipeline blackmail.
  • The grouping of the SSSU has already inflicted a number of strikes on the pipeline.
  • Zelensky stated that the operation of the pipeline depends on Hungary's position.

This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, RBC Ukraine.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán characterized the statements of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky about the Druzhba pipeline as "blackmail and threats". He noted that such statements may have "long-term consequences".

Orbán stated that Zelensky openly threatens Hungary, asserting that strikes on the pipeline have become a response to Hungary's support for European integration of Ukraine. He emphasized that blackmail and threats will not lead to Ukraine's accession to the EU, and that Hungarians have learned correctly, having blocked this process.

Initially, on August 13 and 18, the Armed Forces of Ukraine inflicted strikes on the Druzhba pipeline, as a result of which a fire broke out, and Russia suspended oil transportation. On August 21, the third attack occurred on the territory of Ukraine, which led to the suspension of oil supplies to Hungary and Slovakia, provoking a sharp reaction from Budapest.

Zelensky stated that the operation of the pipeline depends on Hungary's position, which drew criticism from Budapest and Bratislava. Ukrainian diplomats advise neighbors to free themselves from energy dependence on Russia.
