Porsche Cayenne Electric Prototype Demonstrates Impressive Performance

  • Cayenne Electric is developed on the basis of the Volkswagen 800V platform
  • Range of up to 373 miles with a charge in 16 minutes
  • Premiere scheduled for summer 2026

This is reported by Autocar, Top Gear.

The new Porsche Cayenne Electric is an important step for the German car manufacturer, as it represents the next generation of the Cayenne model, which will be fully electric. The prototype, which is undergoing testing on sunny roads in Spain, is developed on the basis of the Volkswagen Group's 800V Premium Platform Electric.

This fifth SUV, known internally as E4, positions itself alongside the existing third-generation Cayenne with an internal combustion engine (ICE). This indicates that Porsche aims to support the existing versions, considering the increasing acceptance of electric vehicles.

The new Cayenne Electric offers several variants of powertrains with power ranging from 400 to 805 horsepower, as well as a large 108 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 373 miles. The charging can be done at a maximum speed of 400 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 16 minutes.

Regarding design, the Cayenne Electric features modern lines, including frameless windows and a closed grille, reminiscent of the Porsche Macan Electric. The interior is expected to be more spacious, with a new digital information screen and space for passengers and luggage.

The dynamics of the car are impressive: the Cayenne Electric Turbo can accelerate to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds, while the maximum speed exceeds 155 mph. The car also has several driving modes, including Comfort, Normal, Sport, and Sport Plus, allowing it to adapt to different conditions.

The premiere of the new Cayenne Electric is scheduled for summer 2026, when the base model and the top Turbo version will be available.
