On August 26, 2025, a tragedy occurred on the Isle of Wight, resulting in the deaths of three people during a helicopter crash. The Robinson R44 II helicopter, belonging to Northumbria Helicopters, went down near Shanklin during a training flight. The crash happened at approximately 09:20 local time.

Among the deceased is a couple, Justina Choska and Voytek Kovalchuk, who, according to their family, were celebrating a gift for their wedding anniversary. One more passenger died, while another remains in serious condition in the hospital.

The family of the deceased, Yuliya Buzar, has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for the return of the bodies to Poland. She expressed her grief on social media, urging people to support during this difficult time.

The crash has caused shock in the local community, and the police and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) have begun an investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy.

Investigators are working on-site, gathering data and testimonies to establish the causes of the disaster, as well as to confirm the identity of the third victim.
