Defense Systems Will Be Built in Yelabuga to Protect the Drone Manufacturing Plant
- Russia is building new defense systems in Yelabuga to protect the drone manufacturing plant.
- Partisans confirm that Ukraine's attacks have seriously disrupted production.
- The plant is key for supplying drones to the Russian army.
This was reported by Ukrinform, RBC Ukraine.
In Yelabuga, Russia, towers with Pantsir defense systems are being built near the plant where Shahed-136 type drones are manufactured. This information was confirmed by the partisan movement ATESH, which consists of employees of the plant.
Along with the reported news, Russian authorities are trying to protect drone production after a series of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which caused serious damage to the factory. Partisans indicate that even new towers cannot guarantee the safety of the plant from further strikes.
Russian officials acknowledge that any new attack could halt drone production and disrupt their supply to the army. ATESH is calling on civilians to provide information about military facilities in Russia and temporarily occupied territories, especially regarding reliable data.
This year, several attacks on the plant have already occurred in the Yelabuga area, including on April 23 and 26, as well as on May 26, when unknown drones struck the factory.
Russia has invested at least $3 billion in drone production, attracting over 900 companies to the drone industry.
