Washington - In September, consumer confidence among Americans fell significantly due to a tightening labor market weakened labor market. According to the Conference Board, the consumer confidence index decreased by 1.3 points to 97.4, compared to 98.7 in August. This decrease reflects the stable situation over the last three months.

Americans' expectations regarding income, business conditions, and the job market have decreased by 1.2 points to 74.8, which remains significantly below the threshold of 80, which could indicate a possible recession. The assessment of consumers regarding their current economic situation also fell to 131.2 in September from 132.8 in August.
