BALTIMORE (AP) — A federal court in Baltimore dismissed the lawsuit of Trump's administration against all federal judges in Maryland. This lawsuit concerned an order issued by the chief judge that halts the deportation of immigrants who are seeking asylum.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Kallin, who was appointed by Trump in 2020, upheld the judges' ruling to dismiss the case. He noted that the administration should have found another way to challenge the order, rather than resorting to an unusual step — a lawsuit against the judges.

The order, signed by Chief Judge of the Maryland District George Russell III, halts the deportation of immigrants who file petitions for asylum. This allows them to participate in court proceedings and grants access to attorneys.

Trump's administration argued that an automatic pause violates the ruling of the Supreme Court and interferes with presidential powers in the area of immigration. However, Kallin stated that the lawsuit is not a typical step and the administration should have found the proper way to express its grievances.

Meanwhile, the administration is seeking to expedite the deportation process, which has raised concerns about the judicial system, which has never before been under scrutiny regarding the legality of its actions.

Among the judges, on whom the lawsuit was filed, is Paula Ksenis, who previously ruled that Trump's administration illegally deported Kilmar Abreu Garcia to El Salvador. This case drew attention to the problems of unlawful deportation.
