This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukrinform.
In Kherson, in the Dniprovskyi district, police officers have removed scattered Russian military anti-personnel mines of the "Lepestok" type (PFM-1). According to information from the National Police of Ukraine, these mines were found on one of the streets of the city.
These mines are particularly hazardous for local residents, as they are practically indistinguishable in the natural environment. The mines can be green or brown in color, which makes their detection in grass, leaves, or dirt difficult. They activate under pressure, so they can be triggered by stepping on them or by being placed on top of them.
After receiving reports of the threat, experts from the demining unit inspected the designated area, collected the identified mines, and eliminated them along the path of controlled detonation. The police evacuated the population in case of the discovery of suspicious objects, prohibiting them from approaching and not attempting to remove them independently.
