Australia has announced actions against Iran for terrorism

Australia has decided to expel the Iranian ambassador and initiate a process for the official designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization. This decision was a consequence of allegations regarding Iran's involvement in anti-Semitic activities on Australian territory.

Experts indicate that Australia has intensified pressure on Iran, especially following allegations of involvement in incidents that took place in Sydney and Melbourne in early 2024, which were confirmed by intelligence data. The expulsion of the ambassador and three other diplomats is the first instance in the last 80 years when Australia has taken such actions.

According to information from experts, Iran is promoting racism and anti-Semitism abroad to gain an advantage in its struggle against its opponents. This strategy has been in place for decades and includes, among other things, attacks on Jewish communities, which provoke tensions between communities.

Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese confirmed that the process of including the IRGC on the list of terrorist organizations has already begun. This decision may spur the United Kingdom and the European Union to also take similar measures against Iran.

At the international level, the IRGC is considered responsible for racist actions beyond the borders of Iran and in the territories of neighboring countries. In Ukraine and other countries, pressure is increasing on governments to take appropriate actions against this organization.
