Superchargers claim victory over Originals in Eliminator

Superchargers won by all means

On September 26, 2025, Northern Superchargers secured a comprehensive victory over Manchester Originals in The Hundred match, qualifying for the Eliminator, which will take place on September 30.

This result also ensured London Spirit's place in the final, as Originals were eliminated from the tournament. The Originals started strong, knowing they needed to win, and did so with a significant margin to surpass the Superchargers' net-run-rate.

After being invited to bat, Originals could not gather enough runs, managing only 94 runs from 95 balls.

Originals captain Beth Mooney looked promising at the start, but the Superchargers' bowlers quickly put pressure on her. Australian star Annabel Sutherland took 3-15, her teammate Nicola Keri contributed 2-13, while Kate Cross showed an economical figure of 1-6 from 15 balls.

Superchargers needed only 38 runs to qualify, and they achieved this in just 34 balls, finishing the game in 35 balls.

Alis Davidson-Richards scored 30 runs from 18 balls, while Sutherland remained unbeaten, scoring 30 runs from 17 balls, finishing the game in a match against Fiby Litchfield, who scored 26 runs from 20 balls.

This victory allowed Superchargers to finish ahead of others, which could be crucial if the Eliminator does not take place due to rain, as the other team is expected to automatically qualify for the final.

Cross impresses again after being recalled from England squad

Kate Cross was recently excluded from the England squad for this year’s World Championship, which she termed a "harsh decision." Her game continues to be more impressive with each match, as she continues to show remarkable results in the tournament.

Cross is the leader in terms of wickets taken in Powerplay, and her experience helps Superchargers aim for their first title in The Hundred.

What happens in the next round?

This is a preliminary day of the group stage, and there will be one more derby, where Trent Rockets will host Birmingham Phoenix in Nottingham.

The women's game starts at 15:00 BST, followed by the men's game at 18:30 BST.
