Nvidia presents the new Jetson AGX Thor chip for robots

Nvidia has introduced the new Jetson AGX Thor chip, designed for robots and autonomous systems. This chip provides impressive performance, surpassing the previous generation Jetson AGX Orin by 7.5 times, and offers energy efficiency that is 3.5 times higher.

Jetson AGX Thor allows robots to make decisions in real-time, which is crucial for performing complex tasks in unpredictable environments. This platform can deliver up to 2,070 teraflops of processing power using new mathematical techniques.

At the launch moment, which took place in September 2025, Thor became the foundation for the next generation of physical artificial intelligence, which includes working robots and autonomous transport vehicles. Nvidia asserts that this chip can significantly enhance the autonomy of robots, enabling them to perform various tasks, such as visual production control and coordination with other machines.

Due to its compact form factor, the Jetson AGX Thor chip becomes an essential element in the development of new solutions in the automation industry, and it has already found applications in companies like Amazon and Boston Dynamics.
