Discussion of Reforms in the Fight Against Corruption in Ukraine

On August 26, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Taras Kachka, held a meeting with the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Semen Kryvonos and the head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) Oleksandr Klimenko. The main topic of discussion was the implementation of the Roadmap for Reform in the field of rule of law, which is a key document for further transformations in this area and within the framework of Ukraine's European integration course.

The document envisages transformations in the fight against corruption in the following areas: strategic and institutional frameworks of anti-corruption policy, prevention of corruption, prosecution of corrupt criminals, auditing the activities of specialized anti-corruption agencies, and integration of anti-corruption measures across all sectors.

During the meeting, they also discussed the recently adopted legislative changes aimed at strengthening the independence of NABU and SAP. Previously, the minister delegated with European affairs, Françis Bénjamin Ada, reported on the support for the fight against corruption and the independence of anti-corruption institutions, which is an important aspect of Ukraine's European path.

Klimenko and Kryvonos also met with European officials in Brussels, including the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi.
