On September 27, 2025, the rapper, whose real name is Montero Hill, appeared in court where he faced four criminal charges, including assault on police officers. The incident occurred on August 26, when the police received a report about a man on Ventura Boulevard. When the officers approached him, he, according to police, was aggressive towards them.

Initially, Lil Nas X was hospitalized due to suspicion of overdose, but later he was detained. The court set bail at $75,000 and also ordered him to attend drug counseling.

The next court hearing is scheduled for September 15. If he is found guilty, he could face several years in prison.

Lil Nas X rose to fame after releasing the hit "Old Town Road" in 2018, which broke records by staying at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 weeks. His debut album "Montero" in 2021 also received recognition.
