British tennis players Sonay Kartal and Keeti Bulter participated in the US Open tournament, which takes place in New York, after tough matches in the first round.

Sonay Kartal, who has been struggling with a shoulder problem, played against Brazilian tennis player Beatriz Haddad Maia, losing with a score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-1. In the opening set, Kartal fell behind 0-3, but got a chance to come back when Haddad Maia also had issues with her movement due to cramps.
