In Ukraine, several major theaters announced the cancellation of exhibitions based on the scripts of American director Woody Allen. This decision was a consequence of his participation in the Moscow International Film Festival, which provoked strong criticism from the Ukrainian government.

Recently, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine condemned Allen, calling him "disgraced" and "a symbol of the memory of Ukrainian actors and cinematographers who were killed or persecuted by Russian criminals during the war." In his statement, Allen expressed the opinion that Vladimir Putin is "completely unjust" in the context of the conflict in Ukraine, but noted that he does not consider it right to limit artistic speech.

In Lviv, the Maria Zankovetska Theater announced the exhibition "Postrils over Broadway," in Chernivtsi the theater named after Oleg Kobylansky presented "Summer Night's Ex-Comedy, or How Without a Bed All Humanity Races." In Kyiv, the Young Theater presented the exhibition "Riverside Drive." All these theaters condemned Allen's participation in the festival, emphasizing that culture should not be used as a cover for criminals.

At the Moscow International Film Festival, Allen participated in a video conference where he discussed the future of cinematography in light of the development of artificial intelligence. He also noted that he has always loved Russian cinema.
