Banting Wins Second Title at the 2025 Players Championship

  • Banting won the title at the Players Championship 25 in Milton-Keynes.
  • The final ended with a score of 8-6 in favor of Banting.
  • In 2025, 34 tournaments of the Players Championship are scheduled.

Steven Banting secured his second title at the Players Championship in 2025, defeating John Clayton with a score of 8-6 in the final, which took place in Milton-Keynes.

The 40-year-old Englishman achieved an average score of 101.74 in the final, finishing the 25th round of the tournament. Previously, Banting played in the semifinal against Jeffrey de Graaf, winning with a score of 8-7, but had to compensate for that, showing an impressive game.

Banting quickly took a lead of 4-1 thanks to early breaks, but Clayton managed to narrow the deficit to 5-4. However, Banting's ten-dart finish restored his lead, and he held the match to victory.

"I was disappointed that I didn’t win on Monday, but I’m happy to have reached two finals and won one of them," Banting said in an interview with PDC. "We are approaching the important part of the season, and I’m getting the win over strong players."

In 2025, 34 tournaments of the Players Championship are scheduled, and the finals will take place in Minehead from November 21 to 23.
