Cleveland (AP) — Cleveland Cavaliers forward Max Strus underwent surgery on his left knee due to a sprain that occurred during training in the offseason. The surgery was performed on September 26, 2025, by Dr. David Porter at Forte Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Indianapolis after consultation with team physician Dr. James Rosneck.

The team announced that Strus will miss at least the first three months of the new season. It is expected that he may return to basketball activities in three to four months.

In the previous season, Strus played 50 games, starting 37, and averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. This helped the Cavaliers secure the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

This injury incident occurred on the heels of a previous injury, when he also missed the start of last season due to a torn right ankle ligament. Cleveland Cavaliers will begin a new season on July 22, 2025.
