NFL places Jimmy Ward on the excluded list

  • Jimmy Ward has been placed on the excluded list due to allegations of violence.
  • Ward will not be able to participate in training or games.
  • He has previously faced arrests related to violence in the family.

The National Football League (NFL) has placed Houston Texans safety Jimmy Ward on the excluded list as of September 26, 2025. Ward will not be able to attend training, camps, or games while he remains on this list.

34-year-old Ward was banned on September 7, 2025, for an order of protection related to allegations of violence in the family. This came after his arrest in June when he was charged with allegations of violence against a family member.

Recently, a lawsuit was filed, which asserts that Ward physically and sexually assaulted Kristi West, the mother of his child. According to the lawsuit, in April Ward invited West to his house under the pretext that he wanted to give her money for their son’s expenses. During the visit, he allegedly assaulted her and subjected her to sexual acts.

In June, Ward again assaulted West, and she alleged that he was under the influence of methamphetamine. Ward has had legal issues related to violence in the past, including being under the influence of alcohol.

At the time of the arrest in September, Ward violated the terms of his probation by testing positive for alcohol. Earlier, he had already been placed on the list of ineligible participants in training due to a knee injury.

Ward was drafted in 2014 as the first round pick by the San Francisco 49ers and played 20 games for the Texans, in which he recorded 98 tackles, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.
