Protesters Occupy Microsoft President's Office

  • Protesters occupied the office of Microsoft President in Redmond.
  • Their demands relate to the termination of contracts with the Israeli government.
  • Investigations revealed the use of Microsoft services by the Israeli government.

This is reported by TechCrunch, The Verge.

On August 26, 2025, protesters broke into the Microsoft headquarters in Redmond and occupied the office of President Brad Smith in building 34, which was temporarily closed. The group "No Azure for Apartheid" streamed their action live on Twitch, holding banners with messages like "Brad Smith, you cannot hide, you support genocide!".

Among the protesters were both current and former Microsoft employees, including those who had been laid off during previous protests. This action follows months of protests against Microsoft contracts with the Israeli government, particularly after recent airstrikes on the company's territory.

Earlier in August 2025, an investigation by The Guardian revealed that the Israeli government uses Microsoft services to store data on millions of calls that daily monitor Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

This protest recalls actions by Google employees, who in April 2024 also organized protest actions in the company's offices, demanding the cessation of contracts with the Israeli government.

Representatives of the protesting group confirmed the participation in the action of several employees who previously worked at Microsoft, as well as new cases of detention during the protest.
