Jay Cutler, former NFL quarterback, received a sentence in a case of driving under the influence, which occurred in Tennessee. In July 2024, Cutler was arrested after his vehicle collided with another transportation vehicle in the town of Franklin. Following this, he admitted guilt in court, which led to a plea agreement regarding the offense.
According to the agreement, Cutler is to serve four days in jail, starting from September 29. In addition, he has been fined $350, is obligated to complete a substance abuse course while driving under the influence, and will be under unsupervised probation for one year. He also lost his driving rights in the state of Tennessee.
According to reports, during the arrest, officers noted that Cutler had red eyes, was slurring his speech, and smelled of alcohol. A loaded pistol and a bottle of whiskey were found in his vehicle. During the investigation, it was revealed that Cutler attempted to bribe the officer with $2,000 to avoid police involvement in the incident.
Cutler's ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, expressed hope that he receives the necessary help after the arrest. They were married in 2013, have three children, and announced their separation in 2020.
Cutler finished his NFL career in 2017, playing for the teams "Chicago Bears," "Denver Broncos," and "Miami Dolphins." His case is a reminder of the legal consequences of driving under the influence, especially when it comes to owning a firearm.
