Russian Post Suspended Deliveries to the USA Due to New Duties

The Russian Post has suspended the acceptance of shipped goods to the United States as of August 26, 2025. This decision is related to new duties that the USA is imposing starting September 29. According to the state information agency TASS, these changes do not affect regular mail delivery, which will continue to operate without changes.

The reasons for the suspension of shipments are linked to the lack of clear indications regarding the implementation of new rules that will span nearly 30 countries, including most of the countries of the European Union, also suspending deliveries to the USA. Along with the new rules, it is stated that the minimum value threshold, which allowed duty-free import of goods worth up to $800, is being revised.

The USA is the largest market for Russian postal exporters, accounting for 23% of total export volume. This category includes toys, cosmetics, health products, and auto parts.
