  • 14 individuals have been arrested in connection with the thefts from Home Depot.
  • The total losses exceed 10 million dollars.
  • Investigators discovered 3.7 million dollars worth of stolen merchandise.

In Southern California, police arrested 14 individuals suspected of being involved in the creation of the largest organized crime group that has been stealing from Home Depot in the company's history. According to the information, this group is linked to 600 thefts in 71 stores, resulting in losses exceeding 10 million dollars.

Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff described the organization as "a sprawling network of thieves" that specifically targeted high-value electrical components, such as switches, dimmers, and outlets. According to investigators, the arrested individuals systematically stole merchandise for which they received between 6,000 to 10,000 dollars per store.

Among those arrested is David Ahl, a 59-year-old man who managed the ARIA Wholesale business in Tarzana. He has been charged with 48 felony counts, including organized theft and money laundering. Also arrested was his brother-in-law, who sold the stolen goods through eBay, and another associate who, according to claims, was involved in similar criminal activities. During the search, authorities seized approximately 3.7 million dollars in stolen goods and 800 thousand dollars, which is considered "dirty" money.

All those arrested remain in custody with bail set between 250 thousand to 500 thousand dollars. If they are convicted, they could face sentences ranging from 4 to 21 years in state prison.
