On the night of September 27, Russian forces carried out a massive drone strike on Sumy, which led to damage to infrastructure facilities. This was reported by the head of the Sumy region, Oleg Grygoriev, and the mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar.

"The enemy inflicted a massive drone strike on the outskirts of the Sumy community. Preliminary data indicates the absence of casualties," the statement reads.

It is noted that as a result of the attack, infrastructure facilities were damaged, and emergency services are working at the scene.

Artem Kobzar also confirmed that the regional center recorded a drone attack of the Shahed type, noting that it did not affect residential areas.

Sumy Under Attack

Explosions in Sumy began around 01:08 Kyiv time. At the same time, media reported power outages in some districts, although this information has not yet been confirmed.

The city also experienced attacks the previous night, September 26, when one drone strike was recorded in each of two districts. That day, infrastructure facilities were damaged and residential buildings caught fire.
