Cracker Barrel Abandons New Logo After Criticism

  • Cracker Barrel has abandoned its new logo following criticism
  • President Trump praised the company for reverting to the old logo
  • The company's stock rose after the announcement of the changes

The American restaurant chain Cracker Barrel has abandoned its new logo, which was presented on August 19, following significant criticism from consumers. The company publicized a statement on social media, in which it reassured its clients about their feedback, stating: "We heard you, and our new logo is gone, while 'Old Buddy' will remain."

The new logo, which featured the image of "Old Buddy" — a man in overalls, who is leaning against a barrel, was perceived as a departure from the traditional values of the company, known for its southern cuisine and nostalgic atmosphere. After this, the company realized that it could better represent its identity.

President Donald Trump, who also commented on the change, compared the company to its return to the old logo, noting that this decision is positively perceived by its supporters. He remarked that Cracker Barrel "has earned a billion dollars without advertising" and urged the company to utilize this opportunity to improve its image.

Previously, the company's shares dropped by 10% after the announcement of the new logo, but after the cancellation of the changes, the stock rose by 7% in expanded trading. Cracker Barrel also plans to preserve elements of its traditional style, such as vintage decor and antiques in its restaurants, aiming to attract a new generation of clients.

The chain was founded in 1969 in Lebanon, Tennessee, and today has over 600 restaurants across the country.
