A Massive Attack by Russia on Poltava Has Been Recorded in Ukraine
- The attack on Poltava has been declared an energy facility emergency.

On August 27, 2025, Russian troops launched a massive strike on the Poltava region. According to information from the head of the Poltava regional military administration Volodymyr Kakhuta, as a result of the attack, the energy enterprise was affected, which led to the disconnection of electricity in the region.
The attack took place during the night from August 26 to August 27, when a drop in voltage was recorded in Poltava and the surrounding area. As a result of the strike, administrative buildings, technical equipment, and vehicles were damaged, and fires also broke out in the territory of the enterprise.
As a result of the shelling of electrical networks, both residential and commercial consumers were disconnected. According to Kakhuta, the fires were extinguished by morning, and electricity supply has been restored. Currently, no casualties among the civilian population have been recorded.
The head of the OVA expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian forces for their rapid response to the extraordinary situation.
Previous Attacks on Poltava
On August 19, Russian troops also carried out a massive strike on oil refining and gas transportation facilities in the Poltava region, which led to significant disruptions in electricity supply. More than 1,400 households and 119 enterprises in the Luben district were left without electricity.
