James Cameron, the renowned director, celebrated his 71st birthday by completing work on the third film of the "Avatar" series titled "The Way of Water." The development of "Avatar" began over 30 years ago, and the filming of the first installment took nearly 20 years. The production of "The Way of Water" started in 2015, parallel to "The Road of Water."

Cameron emphasizes that "Avatar" is one of the biggest projects in cinematography, which may make "Titanic" seem like a small project. He is gearing up for the premiere of the new installment on December 19, which is an important moment for him.

In a recent interview, Cameron spoke about his vision for the future of "Avatar." He noted that the scripts for the fourth and fifth installments are already written, but he needs to decide whether he will film them. "I am at a crossroads, where I need to decide if I want to continue this work," he said.

Cameron also discussed changes in the film industry, stating that the theatrical business is shrinking. "I hope this doesn't last long, but right now it's at a level 30% lower than the indicators of 2019," he noted. He believes that only quality films can bring audiences back to theaters.
