Phoenix Mercury achieved a significant victory over the Los Angeles Sparks with a score of 92-84 in a match that took place on September 27, 2025. The main star of the game was Alisa Thomas, who established a new WNBA record by securing her seventh triple-double of the season. In the match, Thomas scored 12 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, and provided 15 assists, allowing her to surpass her own record of six triple-doubles in a single season, set in 2023.

Thomas reached her record with 2:50 left in the fourth quarter, completing a shot in the zone. She became the first player in WNBA history to achieve at least 10 points, 15 rebounds, and 15 assists in a single game.
