Ukraine and Moldova are ready to start negotiations with the European Union regarding the first cluster "Foundations" of the accession process, confirmed Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Taras Kachka during a meeting with the delegation of the global parliamentary network "United for Ukraine" (U4U).

Kachka noted that the neighboring countries need this step both for internal needs and in a broader regional context. The Minister of Economy, the head of the agricultural department Oleksiy Sobolev emphasized that comprehensive guarantees of security are an important factor for accelerating Ukraine's paths to EU and NATO membership.

Lithuania called on EU member states to take decisive action to make Ukraine's membership application a reality, proposing to start technical negotiations without Hungary, which 26 member states agree to.

In addition, some European diplomats expressed concerns about the idea of separating Ukraine and Moldova in the negotiations regarding membership. Leaders from France, Germany, and Poland visiting Chișinău aim to support Moldova's European course.

Various European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, also emphasize the importance of a unified approach to Ukraine and Moldova's membership.
