The 34-year-old defender Alessandro Florenzi announced his retirement. In a video shared on his Instagram on August 27, 2025, the former player of PSG and Milan expressed gratitude to everyone who supported his career, including teammates, coaches, and family.
Florenzi, who ended his career at Milan after the expiration of his contract on June 30, 2025, mentioned the numerous injuries that affected his decision. The last serious injury occurred during an American club tour in 2024, when he suffered a cruciate ligament tear.
He started his career in Rome, where he played 279 matches over 8 years, scored 28 goals, and provided 32 assists. He also won the European Championship with the Italian national team in 2021, and in Milan, he became the Italian champion in 2022.
In his heartfelt message, Florenzi expressed gratitude to everyone who helped him along the way: "You all helped me to become a better player and person."
