The USA Introduces New Tariffs and Investments in Technology
- The USA has imposed a 50% tariff on goods from India through Russian oil.
- The government is considering the possibility of investing in technology and defense companies.
- Data breach of American citizens due to abuse of the DOGE system.
On September 27, 2025, the USA introduced a 50% tariff on imports from India through the purchase of Russian oil, which may strain relations between the countries. It starts with the fact that India is an important partner for the USA in the Indo-Pacific region, and such harsh measures may jeopardize this connection.
President Donald Trump raised tariffs, which were previously set at 25%, with the aim of economically pressuring Russia. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, promises to protect the interests of his farmers and small businesses.
Currently, the USA plans to invest in technology, including increasing its stake in Intel, which has partnerships with Chinese companies that have been accused of human rights violations. In connection with this, the US government is considering the possibility of investing in defense companies, such as Lockheed Martin.
In addition, reports have emerged about data breaches: the DOGE system leaked personal information of millions of Americans on an unreliable server, which led to the exposure of sensitive data.
