The Minister Discusses New Opportunities for Youth in the EU
- A new mobility scheme will allow young people from Great Britain to work in the EU.
- The government plans to reach an agreement on the export of agricultural products by 2027.
- The minister emphasizes that new agreements will not threaten the sovereignty of the countries.
Nick Thomas-Symonds, the chief negotiator of the British government on European Union matters, expressed enthusiasm regarding the potential establishment of a mobility scheme for youth. In his statement, he noted that this initiative would allow young people from Great Britain to travel and work in EU countries more easily.
Thomas-Symonds stressed that this would be a significant step forward in strengthening ties between Britain and the EU, in contrast to the previous government's position, which was not ready to discuss such opportunities. He also plans to achieve an agreement on a new agreement regarding the export of agricultural products by the beginning of 2027.
The minister pointed out the importance of dynamic alignment of standards with the EU, which would allow British businesses to adapt to European norms. He stated that the new agreement would help reduce spending on product imports, such as cheese and olives, and also improve access to various fruits.
Thomas-Symonds also highlighted that the government's approach will be pragmatic, especially in addressing issues related to border security and the creation of new jobs. He dismissed criticism that new agreements would threaten the sovereignty of Great Britain, emphasizing the importance of restoring trust and economic development.
