The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that allows female deputies of local councils who work on a voluntary basis to cross the state border during martial law. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko in her Telegram.
Previously, even in the case of legal leave, these women could not travel abroad, which limited their volunteer activities and forced some to delegate their mandates. "The new decision removes these barriers. We want female deputies to remain active and continue to develop their communities," Svyrydenko noted.
The changes apply to deputies at all levels of councils, except for those who receive a salary for their work in local self-government bodies.
In addition, on August 26, the Cabinet updated the procedure for crossing the state border. Now, men aged 18 to 22 will also be able to travel abroad without restrictions during martial law. These changes will take effect on the following day after the official publication of the resolution.
