Kyiv, Ukraine (AP) — Russian troops have captured new territories in Ukraine, continuing their aggression in the context of a three-year war. According to a Ukrainian military official, Russian troops have entered the villages of Novohorivka and Zaporizhzhia in the Dnipro region. Military speaker Viktor Trekhubov stated that fighting continues, following a statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding the capture of these villages.

Ukrainian troops are facing significant pressure, striving to repel Russian forces, which significantly outnumber them. However, military analysts believe that the Ukrainian defense is not lacking in determination, as Russian troops have not managed to capture large population centers.

The front line, which stretches approximately 1,000 kilometers, remains active, with heavy combat operations in eastern and southeastern Ukraine. Russia already controls territories in Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

In response to the aggression, Ukraine aims to disrupt military supplies from Russia, delivering strikes on infrastructure along the frontline, including oil refineries. Recent strikes have targeted depots in three regions of Ukraine.

The Kremlin also expressed its opposition to European proposals regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, emphasizing the impossibility of the presence of NATO troops on its territory. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia will not accept the deployment of European troops as part of security guarantees for Ukraine.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian forces have prepared measures to improve security, including the introduction of new multifaceted security guarantees.

On the battlefield, Ukrainian special forces conducted operations in temporarily occupied Crimea, eliminating a number of Russian logistical facilities.
