HSBC has informed clients about problems accessing online banking and the mobile app in Great Britain. Since the beginning of the outage, which was reported at 11:00 local time, thousands of users have reported difficulties on the Downdetector site.
The bank confirmed that some clients received notifications about errors, including the "err03" code, when they attempted to log into their accounts. At the same time, according to the bank's information, access to accounts may be possible via phone or in branches, while card payments were not affected.
HSBC stated that it is working on resolving the issues and is taking the matter seriously. The bank did not provide specific timelines for when the system would be restored, but noted that it is doing everything possible.
This is not the first outage affecting banks in Great Britain. For example, in April 2024, several major banks reported that their systems were down for 1.2 million people, and since February 2023, nearly 803 hours of downtime have been recorded across the operations of nine major banks and building societies.
