- Parents of the 7-month-old Emmanuel Harlow, Rebecca and Jake Harlow, are officially accused of murder following his disappearance.
- Investigators discovered inconsistencies in the parents' testimonies.
- The search for the child continues, but they believe she is deceased.
On August 27, 2025, the parents of 7-month-old Emmanuel Harlow, Rebecca and Jake Harlow, were officially charged with murder and providing false statements to the police. They were arrested on August 22, after police found no evidence of the kidnapping of their son, which the parents reported on August 14.
Rebecca Harlow stated that an unknown man attacked her in the parking lot of the Big 5 store in Yucaipa, California, when she was changing her son's diaper. Following her report, she claimed that the child had disappeared. However, investigators found numerous inconsistencies in her statements.
According to new data, Emmanuel may have been dead even before nine days had passed since his mother reported the kidnapping. Investigators believe that the child could have died between August 5 and 14.
As of August 27, the parents remain under a million-dollar bail. The investigation continues, and the search for the child's remains does not cease.
Detectives continue to investigate the location of the disappearance and review footage from surveillance cameras, trying to ascertain what happened on the day of the disappearance. The San Bernardino Sheriff's Office confirmed that search teams continue to patrol the area in hopes of finding Emmanuel.
